SMEEK VIR NUWE WAARDEVOLLE SKOOLHOOF

Jesus Christus, vandag (Paas Sondag) van alle dae vra ons namens ons Greyseuns, ouers en personeel, kan U vir ons 'n skoolhoof stuur wat waarde vir ons skool inhou en in ons belang optree; 'n hoof wat ons op trots kan wees en wat ons as 'n vader en vriend kan beskou.

Ons het 'n skoolhoof nodig wat vir Grey 'n advertensie kan wees en nie iemand wat in sy kantoor wegkruip, seuns en ouers sleg behandel, en nie sy deel van sy pligte behoorlik nakom nie. Ons is gatvol om iemand wat nie sy deel doen en net die minimum doen om sy eie ego te streel aan bewind van ons eens besonderse skool te hê. Dis nou tyd dat ons 'n fantastiese hoof wat 'n ambassadeur vir Grey is te kry as skoolhoof om ons naam in ere te herstel.

Ons wil ook, soos ons voorvaders en ouers, trots wees op Grey wat ons ontneem is met die aanstel van Scheepers en nou het Geldenhuys ook in hierdie selfde rigting begin beweeg. Daar was altyd gesê die kaffertjies is die probleem, maar dit wil tog wel voorkom of die witman die probleem is oral.

'n Skoolhoof behoort net 'n kort tydperk van 4 of 8 jaar aangestel te word soos 'n president sodat hy nie dink hy is die alfa en omega wat kan doen net wat hy wil nie. Ons het Scheepers geglo toe hy gesê het hy gaan Grey in 'n akademiese skool verander. Dit was die grootste leun wat iemand ons nog vertel het want almal wat akademies presteer doen dit a.g.v. ekstra klasse by privaat persone of ander instansies, nie by Grey nie. Ons soek daai tipe skoolhoof wat dit wel sal regkry, wat die "guts" het om sporttye minder te maak vir die gebruik van ekstra klasse, koor en kultuur aktiwiteite smiddae en aandklasse heeltemal afskaf sodat seuns en ouers weer kan rus en familiebande by die huis kan versterk. Ons is almal oormoeg want die vereistes en heeltyd by die skool wees, is net te veel. Selfs die koshuisseuns het nie meer ontspanningstyd nie, dis net altyd besig wees met skoolverwante aktiwiteite. Dis nie waaroor skool gaan nie. Skool gaan daaroor om kennis in te win,  nie om 15 ure per dag besig te bly met sport of ander skool aktiwiteite nie. Sport is in werklikheid 'n ekstra.

Daar behoort eintlik glad nie ekstra klasse te wees nie. Skooltyd is veronderstel om gebruik te word vir die aandbied en oordra van kennis. Die ander kole in die res van die wêreld doen dit so, hoekom kan ons nie ook nie? Seuns behoort soos in ander lande lekker skateboarding of ander aktiwiteite na ure te kan doen. By Grey het ons nie "na ure" nie: nie die seuns, ouers of die personeel nie. Dis nie 'n lewe nie!!

Asseblief Here, hoor ons gebede, maak seker ons nuwe hoof is nou die regte hoof, 'n dinamiese ambassadeur wat vir ieder en elk by Grey omgee, aan voorstelle en klagtes aandag gee, en in ander se belang optree.

Skoolhoof GeBoo by 2019 Matriekafskeid

Die idiote wat Scheepers gekies en aangestel het as skoolhoof moet hulle koppe regtig laat lees. Ons is rerig so skaam vir die man. Geen van die seuns sien hom eintlik as ons skoolhoof nie. Hy probeer 'n speech lewer by die matriekafskeid maar hy steek ons net in die skande voor ons matriek "dates". Voldemort, askies Scheepers, was sommer lekker "ge-boo" want wat die rukkerige nek wil sê maak vir niemand saak nie. Kan hy nie die "hint" kry dat hy nie 'n skoolhoof se gat werd is nie en dat niemand vir hom respek het nie? O ja, hy is so dikvellig dat hy wragtag fight vir sy job terwyl ander sal bedank as hulle weet hulle is onwelkom by die werk juis omdat die werk nie regtig gedoen word nie. Ons kan almal besig lyk in 'n kantoor, in sy kantoor. Hy is ook nie 'n ambassadeur of advertensie vir Grey nie.

Recall A President - Recall A Headmaster

If the Department of Education is worth anything, it will recall bad, useless and unapproachable headmasters as was done to President Mbeki in the past by the government.

Hoekom moet 'n skoolhoof sy pos behou net omdat hy daarin aangestel is en dit die gebruik was vir dekades dat dit so werk? Mens moet 'n skoolhoof uit sy pos kan wegkry as hy nie aan standaarde voldoen, sy werk nie behoorlik doen nie, nie toegangklik is nie en bo gemiddelde resultate kan lewer nie.

The irony is that Scheepers had a complaint program at school a few years back where parents had to collect complaints and submit them to him not realizing he is the biggest problem. Who would say that straight to his face?

Grey Fok Ouers Rond

Dis regtig eienaardig dat ouers toelaat dat die skool hulle so rondfok. Soveel ouers het al planne gemaak of hul seuns ingeskryf vir unieke verrykende buitemuurse klasse wat niks met Grey verband hou nie en dan word sport of kultuurtye by Grey sommer net eenvoudig geskuif na wanneer dit die skool pas of nuwe tye word skielik gegee.

Hierdie is heeltemal onaanvaarbaar, maar ouers is moontlik te bang om iets te sê want dan word dit op hul seun uitgehaal. Daar is soveel ure wat verlore gaan in die middae wat vir buitemuurs gebruik kan word. As Grey nou regtig 'n cool skool wil word moet alle ander buitemuurs aangebied word gedurende hierdie tye sodat skoolure of liewer, skool buitemuurse ure wat ook maar skoolure is want seuns bly op die skoolgronde, verkort word.

Koor, drama, musiek, ander kultuur aktiwiteite en meeste sport kan in die middae gedoen word. So kan sport vroëer eindig en kan leerlinge reeds 17:00 of 18:00 met als by die skool klaar wees en terug by die huis wees. Wonder of die tweede kans wat Scheepers gekry het hom sulke nuwe positiewe goed sal laat inbring en of hy nog steeds soos van tevore gedryf gaan wees deur sy ego: die ego is die duiwel wat op mens se skouer sit en jou laat glo jy is fantasties terwyl jy eintlik 'n poepol is.

Koor Onderwyser Moet Afgedank Word

Dit gons onder die seuns hoe hul uitgeskel, gevloek en verskree was Donderdagaand by kooroefening.

'n Ouer sê, "So laat ek nie op my kind skree nie! Nou haal ons hom uit Grey uit en gaan koerante toe! My seun was in 'n toestand na koor!"

Almal het hul buitemuurse klasse gereel volgens die ou koortye, dus was hul paar minute laat vir koor, wat nog in aanmeldtyd was, om so sleg behandel te word. Die ou koortye 18:30 tot 20:30 was eintlik beter as die nuwe koortye vertel die seuns en hul ouers en die kak dat hul 10 minute voor die tyd by koor moet wees om aan te meld is ook onregverdig. Baie moet reeds 5 na 10 minute vroëer verskoon word by noodsaaklike buitemuurse klasse om op tyd by koor te wees, nie 10 minute vroëer nie.

Die seuns wil graag in die koor wees, maar nou word dit so onaangenaam met te veel voorwaardes  en drama dat ouers gaan begin aksie neem. Beheerraad hier kom ons nou weer met ons klagtes.

Gee sommer ook dadelik vir Dafel die trekpas en skuif die koortye terug na waar dit was of koor moet vroeg in die middae wees!

New High School Choir Time Sucks

It's probably the useless head-master, Scheepers, who came up with the brilliant non-practical 2019 choir times or gave permission for it. It clashes with so many things. When is chicken-head going to get it in his head that all extra murals should end 5 or 6 o'clock in the evening and not 8 or 9 o'clock!

It should be a matter of, you can either play rugby (do sport) or you can sing in the choir, but you can't do both because they are at the same time in the afternoon. Grey is big enough for that.

All extra mural classes should take place during the afternoons. It's understandable if an extra math or science class is presented in the evening, but these should all take place only on one evening, although the quality of schooling should be so high that no extra classes are needed. Parents and boys are so busy with school-related activities, they can't ever watch TV, change their mind, have a family meal together or dream a little during school terms.

Things are not much better at the primary school. Parents talk about the fact that they thought Jurie Geldenhuys was going to be a better headmaster at the primary school by seeing to it that academics come first (the ultimate reason a boy is at school), but instead, he is worse: everything is sport, sport, sport and the whites are boosted all the time like in the high school. A primary school child shouldn't be at school after 4 o'clock in the afternoon.

When is school at Grey going to be school again?

Congratulations Independent Extra-Class Educators!

All the independent extra-class teachers, congratulations for your wonderful teaching ability and fantastic matric results! All the boys that got distinctions this year attended extra evening, afternoon and even weekend classes outside the school, even Rocco, because, as we all know by now, the teachers at Grey are truly pathetic and can take no credit for the boys that got distinctions. The matrics who couldn't afford or didn't attend extra classes from independent educators, did not get any distinctions.

"We have to go back to school next week, to start the new school year 2019, knowing that our parents pay school fees for sport and sweat blood to pay for the additional extra classes to ensure that we are actually schooled. Everything is already a battle in South Africa, but this is loaded on top of that." —A high school boy.

At Grey, the boys learn to party on and off the school grounds, but don't acquire an education at Grey. When is someone going to do something about this?

The False Image of Grey

From the day that a boy starts school at Grey he is told constantly that Grey is the best school in South Africa. This is nothing other than brainwashing because it isn't true and the academic evidence proves otherwise. It shouldn't be necessary to say anything; the results should speak for themselves.

Grey personnel projects an image of being the best school in South Africa, but Grey boys take up to 7 years after matric to get rid of the Grey mentality and ego to start focusing on their careers. Some boys never get rid of it. While still in the Grey mentality and ego mode, they keep on partying and behaving in a manner that displays being above other people, which they truly are not.

At the time boys are being brainwashed about Grey, the personnel at Grey treat others very badly. So many good-doers and even parents with the best of intentions who brought fantastic initiatives to Grey for the benefit of our Grey-boys, have left for having been treated bad, getting the resistance of a lifetime or were worked out. What an insult, but moreover, this just adds to people disliking Grey more and more resulting in a bigger bad image of Grey and negative feelings toward Grey. So much for having a person at the top with a business degree. What does that help if there is no business sense? Luckily these initiatives are welcomed at other schools.

In business it is said that if you make one enemy or lose one customer, then that person influences 75 other people negatively. Nobody can afford to treat good doers badly anymore, neither in South Africa nor the rest of the world. Money is just too tight everywhere. Oh, but don't forget, Grey has too much money, so it doesn't matter. If R2m of Grey's money can be spent on lawsuits because the headmaster doesn't do his job and we all know this is in actual fact the truth, then making enemies or chasing away those that are trying to benefit our school can be lost without regret or conscience.

The Afrikaans boys at Grey look down upon the English boys, especially because the English boys are mostly black. The Afrikaans boys, however, have a ball at Grey. They seem to be OK while the English boys, not necessarily the black boys, have a hard time.

Just the way our country is running on the previous party's governance and momentum, Grey is running on previous headmaster's successful administration. The so-called "hand picked" headmaster can't deliver, which means that the people, all a product of Grey for being Old Greys, responsible for doing the picking, clearly cannot make good choices. This could be as a result of the poor education obtained at Grey. Who in their right mind would choose an unpresentable person to represent Grey as headmaster? Just more proof that Grey doesn't educate well.

All this said, the only way to get rid of bad personnel is to send complaint after complaint to the Department of Education or a petition so that they can do the firing. Controlling bodies at schools can't get rid of school personnel appointed by the Dept of Edu. So get your butt in gear and start the process because it is of no use to put up all kinds of fancy gates that boasts with the exterior, yet the rest is one huge mess. First fix the personnel, then build all the ego-based stuff that really has no value. A proper education is the only thing that really matters and this is where Grey falls short because Grey cannot deliver. Extra mural educators, NOT TEACHING AT Grey, cause the boys to pass and have good marks, NOT Grey's teachers.

If you want to put your son in a sport or rugby school, Paarl Boys, Paul Roos and Affies are much better options than Grey. They at least provide all round development that is balanced, not just sport development. Any other primary school in Bloemfontein is better than Grey, At least they lay a proper educational foundation that can be built on in especially subjects that matter such as maths and science. Grey is not the same as in the past. The name doesn't cut it anymore.

Spog Met 'N Ander Se Vere

Grey se konsuise slimkoppe het nie hul kennis by Grey gekry nie. Van hulle kom van ander laerskole af waar daar regtig skool gehou word en die wat wel in Grey se laerskool was, woon ekstra klasse by wat nie deur Grey aangebied word nie. Die eeu oue manier: Grey doen niks, maar vat al die krediet. Mense gaan nie vir altyd hierdie vat nie. Daar gaan 'n punt kom waar ouers hul voete gaan neersit want die lewe is net te duur om dubbel te betaal vir geleerdheid.

Ons moet tog wel die ekstra-klas onderwysers gelukwens met wat jul vermag het, al kry julle nie die krediet nie, maak julle darem gelukkig die geld uit die Grey manne. Mens wonder net of julle nie ook op 'n punt gaan kom waar julle die krediet wil hê as net die geld nie.

Betaal Vir Dit Wat Jy Kry

Skool is gratis in ander lande. In Suid Afrika moet mens egter betaal vir skool, al is dit die swakste akademiese skool met die swakste onderwysers.

Grey probeer ons seuns besig hou met te veel buitemuurs.

Mens moet betaal vir dit wat jy kry & wat mens by Grey kry, in terme van akademiese onderrig, is bitter min, so ons skoolgelde behoort min te wees. As die skoolgelde min is het mens genoeg om te spandeer aan ekstra klasse buite die skool.

Die eerste reel van skool behoort te wees om nie betalende ouers se inkomste af te sny nie. Soveel ouers bied buitemuurse aktiwiteite aan vir kinders soos karate, hip hop (nie by Grey nie), ballet, tennis, stoei, liggaamsbou, wiskunde, wetenkap, Frans, Portugees, ens., maar daar is amper geen tyd beskikbaar vir kinders om van hierdie buitemuurs gebruik te maak nie want hulle is die heeltyd besig met skoolverwante aktiwiteite, veral sport.

Skole moenie soos besighede bestuur word nie, maar deesdae volg almal Grey na want Grey word konsuis soos 'n besigheid bestuur en die ouers kan nie meer vir skoolgelde betaal omdat hulle te min kinders kry om in te skakel by hul buitemuurse klasse veral van Grey af. Hoe moet hul die skoolgelde betaal en ander skoofverwante gelde? Daar is ook amper geen ekstra tyd beskikbaar oor naweke want selfs die naweke word geokkupeer.

President Trump van die VSA se voorneme is "Make America Great Again!" Dis wat ons by Grey ook nodig het. As middae en aande beskikbaar is dat besighede kan voordeel trek uit kinders wat van dienste gebruik maak, help dit die ekonomie ook.

Wat ons kry by Grey is regtig baie min. Leerders is by skool om akademiese onderrig te ontvang. Sport is 'n bysaak, maar by Grey sal mens sweer die seuns is daar net vir sport onderrig en deelname. Geen wonder Grey is die nommer 1 sport skool in die land en Eunice die nommer 1 akademiese skool nie. Grey kon die nommer 1 akademiese skool gewees het as daar net iemand was wat dit reg kon bestuur.

Hou op om te betaal vir gemors en swak diens (swak diens verwys na swak onderrig). Of die kak wat vir die seuns onderrig verskaf moet afgedank word, maak nie saak hoe moeilik dit is nie, of die skoolgelde moet met ten minste twee derdes verminder want dis wat die onderrig by Grey werd is en dit begin sleg in die laerskool en word al vrotter in die hoërskool.

Aangesien Grey soos 'n besigheid bestuur word moet ouers die geleentheid kry om te betaal vir dienste gelewer en soos ouers nou voel is dit nie nodig om te betaal nie.

Bring 'n monitering in wat weekliks nagegaan word dat onderswysers moet 'perform'. As onderwysers nie 'perform' nie dan word hulle salaris minder of onderwysers moet op kommissie werk. Dan sal julle sien hoe hulle 'perform' en kinders waardevolle onderrig kry.

Die feit dat Scheepers toegesien het dat geweldig baie van Grey se onderwysers weg is by Grey, beteken nie dat hy iets werd is nie want hy is nie. Hy is glad nie toeganklik nie en hy het glad nie 'n persoonlikheid wat goeie verhoudings by personeel (onderwysers), ouers en seuns bewerkstellig nie, buiten die feit dat hy nie sy werk gedoen het en nog steeds nie doen nie.

Ons staan bank vas agter die beheerraad dat Scheepers een van die gemors is wat ook moet weg by Grey. Gee iemand heeltemal nuut die geleentheid om die "Make Grey Great Again" beleid te bewerkstellig; iemand wat toeganklik is met 'n mooi dog sterk persoonlikheid wat 'n dinamiese gesagsfiguur is, wat sy werk sal doen, waarvan mens sal hou en respek voor kan hê. Iemand wat vir ons skool omgee en nie vir sy eie sak wil sorg of terugveg omdat hy bang is dat hy nie meer 'n pos gaan hê nie.

Ons hoop van harte en bid dat die appél slaag vir ons skool en vir ons seuns se onthalwe!

GREY HET SLEGTE AKADEMIESE NAAM

Grey mag 'n wonderlike naam hê vir rugby, maar Grey se naam is bitter sleg as dit by akademie kom.

Scheepers is ongewild by die onderwysers omdat hy dit kon regkry dat hul skoolhou tot Donderdag want hulle was gewoond soos in Vollies se tyd om net Maandae en Dinsdae skool te hou. Ons almal weet hoe dit by Grey gewerk het tot onlangs nog.

Party onderwysers was darem nog bietjie meer verantwoordelik met meer pligsbesef deurdat hulle skool gehou het Woensdae ook. Dit was uiteraard nog steeds nie goed genoeg nie, maar dit het darem bietjie gehelp.

Nou dat onderwysers moet skoolhou tot Donderdae, waai die een na die ander. Hulle weet net nie dat waar hulle heen gaan hulle gaan moet skoolhou tot Vrydae vir heel moontlik minder vergoeding nie, maar dis hulle probleem; hulle is in elk geval kak onderwysers.

As Grey 'n skoolhoof kon hê wat verseker dat skool gehou word al 5 dae van die week sal dit glad nie nodig wees vir middag en aand ekstra klasse nie. Die nadeel hiervan sal wees dat sporttoere later vertrek en sporture dalk ook minder word. Die voordeel is dat die akademiese resultate sal styg en meer ouers tevrede sal wees want uiteraard gaan mens skool om akademiese kennis in te win en sport is 'n bysaak. By Grey, egter, het dit verkeerd gedraai want die meeste geld word uit sport en sporttoere gemaak.

Old Regime Laws and Legislations Are Still Used

There should be a way to fire a principal and/or teacher who doesn't do their job, but instead old white man laws still count. A school's controlling body should be able to step in if there is nowhere to turn to.

Our Grey boys, teachers and parents have been complaining about Grey's staff for a very long time and yet there isn't really anything that can be done.

Out with the old; in with the new. Get rid of laws that don't work. Set up new laws and legislation. A person employed by the department of education should have a short contract and not an indefinite one. If the employee knows he/she has a job for good and can't be fired, what incentive does that one have to do a good job?

Make new rules!

So Much For Turning Grey Secondary Into An Academic School

Now more than ever, Grey is a sport school.

When Mr Scheepers started at Grey, he announced that he was going to turn Grey into an academic school. Now more than ever, it is a sport school. He achieved the exact opposite.

Word goes round that the governing body wants to put Scheepers in charge of academics. Isn't this the joke of the century? A person with a business degree is now going to be in charge of academics. No wonder academic marks were the lowest ever at the end of last year.

The way it works at Grey is the same way in government: most of the teachers are useless, but nobody gets fired; they only get shuffled. Who can progress with a team like that?

There are enough hours in the mornings to school us properly, but nooo, the boys have to attend double schooling: second school in the evenings or your own private extra classes that pushes up schooling expenses.

Ons moet nie vir Grey meer betaal nie, maar liewer net vir die aandklasse. Mens betaal vir dit wat jy kry.

Meneer Scheepers het nog nooit sy eie besigheid gehad om te weet hoe om 'n besigheid te bestuur nie, maar hy wil Grey bestuur soos 'n besigheid. Die eerste reel van besigheid is om kliënte tevrede te stel. Ons Greyseuns en ouers is Grey se kliënte en almal is uiters ontevrede met wat hul by Grey kry.

New Headmaster Requirements

Grey Secondary needs a humanitarian as headmaster, so we beg for a candidate (male or female) that will act in the interest of our Grey boys and not always be on the attack or in some form of retaliation. Please don't get another headmaster with an ego problem either. A strong authority figure is necessary, but if the ego is in the way, history will just keep on repeating itself.

The new headmaster should have insight, vision and foresight. Foresight is very important, because if a person can't see a possible future outcome, actions will be taken incorrectly, which is exactly what has happened to date.

Open-mindedness is another quality our new headmaster should possess. A headmaster cannot be narrow-minded, but rather modern with innovative ideas. Being considerate is also very important in a headmaster.

The new headmaster must NOT be an Old Grey. Bring in new blood with high values and standards. Just look what the school-grounds look like in the afternoons. We don't want our school to still be called a dump. Parked cars too are not safe from soccer balls.

The new headmaster must be forgiving and a problem solver, not creator of such.

Grey's new headmaster must definitely be a NON-SMOKER. Besides always smelling like and ashtray, smokers only live for the next smoke break and really don't care about anything else. Smokers can't handle stress the way non-smokers can. A smoker has a don't-care attitude, but above all, please go see how the teachers smoke outside their classrooms at the primary school between classes. Not only does this create a bad image and example for our boys, but our boys have to pass these teachers several times a day, causing a huge health risk. A smoker should not at all be appointed at an institution that wants to acclaim respectability. Anyone that wants to have a successful institution knows that appointing a smoker is a bad idea merely because they can't provide the necessary leadership and/or support--the next smoke counts too much.

While on the topic, a few members of the controlling-body should be fired too. They are truly narrow-minded bastards with no problem-solving abilities, consideration and foresight.

Swak Onderrig by Grey Hou Aan

Van 'n bron:

"Ek sit langs 'n meisie in die die wiskunde ekstraklas een aand by haar skool en ek verstaan niks wat die juffrou verduidelik nie. Ek leun oor en vra die meisies wat op die bord aangaan. Hulle sê die juffrou herhaal net gou kortliks die goed wat ons 2 jaar gelede by die skool as deel van die leerplan moes gedoen het. Ek weet niks wat daar aangaan nie. Toe ek by die huis kom vertel ek my ouers en my pelle. Ons stel ondersoek in en kom agter dat my en hulle wiskunde geen fondasie het nie en daar verder niks beter gegaan het vandat ek in die hoërskool gekom het nie. My onderwyser in die laerskool was Mnr van Vuuren. Die skoolhoof het my ingeroep om my aan te vat oor my wiskundepunte wat so laag is. Hy maak uit asof ek die probleem is en gee my nie 'n kans om vir hom te vertel hoe swak die onderwysers by die skool is nie. Ek word vertel dat ek van nou af moet hard werk, maar hoe doen jy dit as jy net vir 5 minute klas het elke periode?"

Nadat hierdie seun met ons gepraat het, het ander ook dieselfde vertel. Hulle het selfs genoem dat hulle probeer het om by hul onderwysers hulp te kry omdat hulle swak onderrig gekry het in die laerskool by Grey veral in belangrike vakke soos wiskunde, wetenskappe en tale. Die onderwysers trek net hulle skouers op en sê die laerskoolonderwysers het nie hulle werk gedoen nie en daar is nou niks aan te doen nie want hulle is nie bereid om ekstra klas aan te bied om dit reg te stel nie omdat dit nie is waarvoor hulle daar is nie.

Die seuns wat Grey verlaat het, vertel dat hulle ekstra wiskunde onderrig moes ontvang van graad 3 en ander van graad 4 af om te verstaan wat in die hoërskool aangaan met wiskunde. Hulle noem ook dat al is dit elementêr, dit uiters nodig was om weer amper van voor af te begin. Hierby voeg hulle dat hul sisters in die meisieskole baie meer weet as hulle en deeglike onderrig ontvang en na alles wat hulle moes deurgaan om die regte kennis te kry, hulle agterkom dat as die klasse by die skool reg aangebied word in skooltyd, dit glad nie nodig is vir ekstra klasse by die skool, by ander skole of privaat mense nie.

Die fokuspunt by Grey is verkeerd en op sport, terwyl dit op akademie moet wees omdat ons seuns die broodwinners moet wees vir hulle families wanneer hulle groot is.

Verder verneem ons hoe Oud Greys sukkel by universiteite want hulle is gewoond aan sport en partytjie hou. Sport is die grootste vorm van partytjie hou. Die eerste 2 jaar van universiteit fok hulle net rond en suip soveel as hulle kan terwyl die ander skole se seuns gefokus is en hard studeer. Die uitsonderings is weglaatbaar min, alhoewel daar natuurlik is, maar die oorgrootte meerderheid is wat tel.

'n Onderwyser behoort nie sy moer te strip omdat die klas raas of onbeheersd is nie want dis in 'n seun se natuur. Seuns kan nie stil sit nie, so jy kan nie van ons seuns verwag om so stil te wees dat mens 'n speld hoor val nie wat die onderwysers altyd probeer regkry voordat hulle glo gaan klas aanbied nie; dis nou as hulle in die klas is die hele periode.

Dit behoort nie so moeilik te wees vir 'n skoolhoof om van 'n onderwyser ontslae te raak wat nie iets vir die skool beteken nie. Soos met enige besigheid, want 'n skool is maar ook 'n vorm van besigheid (mens kom dit veral agter as mens sien hoe baie sporttoere daar nou by die skole is om geld uit die leerders te maak vir hul skole); 3 waarskuwings en jy's uit!

Vir die onderwysers wat iets beteken en wel in hul klasse is die hele periode: Seuns agter in die klas kan in elk geval amper nooit hoor nie, so hoekom sit die skool nie speakers agter in die klas en gee vir die onderwysers 'n mikrofoon nie want dan kan die onderwyser klas aanbied asof hy/sy alleen in die klas is en almal kan hoor, al raas of vroetel die res. Grey het baie geld as mens sien hoeveel nuwe goed by die skool aangekoop, gedoen, gebou en ingebring word wat glad nie betrekking het op die akademie nie.

Grey Het Nie Waardes en Standaarde Nie!

Haal jou seun uit Grey uit en moenie seuns na Grey toe stuur nie. Mens wil jou kind laat reg groot word en mense navolg wat waardes en standaarde het.

Buiten die 3 of dalk 4 onderwysers wat regtig iets werd is by Grey terwyl die ander uiters vrot is, laat Grey nou toe dat ongekwalifiseerde afrigters "Sokkie Crash Courses" aanbied op die skoolgronde!

Miskien is dit net die skoolhoof wat vir die hele wêreld wil wys dat hy nie waardes en standaarde het nie, deur dit toe te laat, of miskien wil hy graag Grey se beeld so aan almal uitdra dat dit 'n instansie is waar sommer ongekwalifseerdes toegelaat word om afrigting te gee. Hierdie beeld word dan ook uitgedra dat 'n kwalifikasie nie belangrik is nie! As mens na die seuns se punte kyk sal mens dink amper niemand by Grey is gekwalifiseerd nie en miskien is hulle nie. Dit laat mens wonder....

Mense, hierdie is so KOMMIN dis net nie waar nie. 'n "Crash Course" as sulks is reeds KOMMIN want dit werk nie! Enige geleerde weet dit!!!!!!! Dis KOMMIN om betrokke te wees by "Crash Courses"!! Jy kan nie eers wiskunde "Crash Courses" vat of 'n "Crash Course" in kookkuns, lees, skryf, karate, tennis, rugby, ensovoorts vat nie. Die goeie naam van Grey is in gedrang en dit is nou al so dat Grey se rugbyspelers nie meer plek het in SA rugby nie want die standaard is met dit soos baie ander goed by Grey af, af, af! Mens kan met hierdie optrede verstaan hoe Grey net aanhou agteruitgaan!

Scheepie, jy het groot kak aangevang deur hierdie toe te laat op die skoolgronde, terwyl Grey reeds die regte mense op die skoolgronde gehad het wat kwalifikasies het. Jy wys duidelik waar jou integriteit lê en dis verseker nie by kwalifikasies nie want jy sou kennis gedra het van wie kwalifikasie het en wie nie, of miskien...? Nou is dit "dumps" toe met Grey se naam. Almal gaan nog meer vir ons lag, veral omdat die betrokke afrigters bedrog pleeg deur voor te gee dat hulle gekwalifiseerd is terwyl hulle glad nie is nie en glad nie dit wat hulle aanbied mag aanbied nie, omdat hulle nie daarin kwalifikasies het of skriftelike magtiging het nie! Dis alles nageaap van die wat eintlik die kwalifikasies, getekende kontrakte en magtigingsbewyse het!

Dit sal nie lank wees nie dan sal Grey seker sommer ongekwalifiseerde mediese personeel op die skoolgronde ook hê vir mediese dienste! Dis hoe dit begin en nou hier werk!

It's Generally Known That Grey's Academics Are Bad But The Sport Acceptable

Grey College is supposedly regarded as one of the best schools if not the best in South Africa, but everyone knows that Grey is bad at academics. So the boys come from all over South Africa to come and take part in sport and not to excel academically, because academics are not a priority. If it was, much less time would have been spent on sport.

The only real reason white boys still come from all over the country to Grey is due to not wanting to be in black schools for the black schools' standard has dropped so severely, it's not worth going to school there anymore. Grey still has majority white Afrikaner boys, up-keeping some form of standard.

Uncountable money is sponsored and spent on international rugby tours, but the boys who do exceptionally well at academics have to pay for themselves out of their own pocket, if they want to take part in mathematic Olympiads overseas. Not even 1 cent is spent on them or sponsored for them to take part and to represent our school. Academics is what a boy needs to provide for his family in future, but games, NB. note, games, which sport forms a part of, is focused on. Less than 3% make it big in sport and become professional sport stars these days, so it doesn't make sense why Grey keeps focusing on sport. Maybe it's due to bad managerial staff or a bad governing body.

Boys, who excel at rugby, are merely put through without the academic backup and there is a huge fuss made of them on stage when they need to get some kind of rugby-award. This is never done with any of the other sports or academic achievements. The fact is, a rugby-player can do badly at academics and will get congratulated for playing a specific position in an important rugby-game on his academic report-card.

Ha, ha, ha, that's Grey for you.

The shock is that Grey hasn't delivered as many Springbok-players as they would like us to believe. Do the research; it's really much less than the other boys schools in South Africa. 

Human Is Nie Die Enigste Vrot Onderwyser Nie

Gelukwense aan die ouers wat vir Johan Human gaan aangee het vir sy versuiming om praktiese eksperimente te doen, dit terwyl Grey van die beste weterskap klaskamers in die land het wat spesiaal aangebou is vir eksperimente. Hierdie tipe onderwyser hoort nie by Grey nie, maar Grey het hordes van hulle wat absoluut niks omgee nie, veral nie omgee of die seuns hoegenaamd enige kennis van hulle af kry nie. Grey behoort bestempel te word as een van die swakste skole in die land met al die kak onderwysers, maar watter onderwyser sal wil weggaan as jy omtrent niks hoef te doen en van die beste betaaldes in die onderwys is?

Die eeu oue leuse geld mos nog steeds vir Grey se leerders: jy is by Grey vir die naam en vir die sport; akademie sal met ekstra klasse bolangs reg geklap word wat jou sal laat deurskraap of jy nou verstaan wat jy doen of nie. Solank jou ouers geld het vir privaat ekstra klasse, sal jy deurkom want die verpligte ekstra klasse by die skool help tog niks. Scheepers moet sy donnerse oë oopmaak.

Rerig, die oorgrootte meerderheid onderwysers by Grey is net plain swak. As hul voertsek, sal ekstra klasse nie meer nodig wees nie. Ekstra klasse sal dan net beskikbaar wees vir die geselekteerdes wat iets gevorderd wil doen soos AP-maths en seuns sal weer hul lewe terug hê en nie hul tyd gaan sit en mors by verpligte ekstra klasse nie. Skool sal weer iets word waarna uitgesien word en nie 'n las soos dit vir meeste seuns voel nie. Raak van die gemors ontslae, heel eerste van Human!

Silence Is A Crime

Not only is democracy about freedom of speech, but it is truly a crime not to speak out!

This blog single-handedly was the result that Herman Rudd immediately stopped with his sadistic behaviour toward the boys in his classes as posted in previous articles, although he denied that he did those things. He even tried to convince the board that he never did such things, but the boys who had to endure the subtle abuse and humiliation for decades told too many people. So his lies didn't pay off. Therefore, exposing Rudd worked. Our heart goes out to the boys, some now men, that have suffered irreparable psychological damage and there is no apology that can fix this type of damage from this outrageous tough love. Just to prove how Rudd behaved during his time as acting principle, he patrolled the school grounds in the afternoons to punish the boys that were still at school for their parents being late or not arriving until after 17.00, since he made the new school rule that boys had to be picked up before 14.00. He also gave Teacher Nadia hell with a Facebook page and nagged her day after day to do what he requested. Ask her, she has lots to tell. Her nerves couldn't take it anymore and this is absolutely not the behaviour of a mature person, let alone an acting principle, but once again proves what type of teachers Grey has.

As for Mrs Tracey Eksteen, who is actually an excellent teacher, but who has no clue how terrifying she is and that her bombastic way frightens people, not only scares the boys. The learners that have class with her are afraid of her, yet she believes and tells everybody she's only loud. "Only loud" is not at all how people perceive her. People perceive her as a bitch.

If Mr Leon Fourie stops trying to be a priest and actually starts teaching because he spends valuable time preaching from the Bible instead of teaching, he could be one of Grey's best teachers. The emotional element is a part of him and can only subside if he can learn to control it.

Mrs Lindy Van Jaarsveld doesn't realise that she is top of the list of bad teachers at Grey and has been very close in having been fired. She has numerous times been the topic of discussion at board meetings, because she truly sucks at teaching and the school had many complaints about her, but teachers are unfortunately protected by the new yet ignorant rules the department of education has implemented several years ago that makes it difficult to merely fire a teacher. The only reason she got the position of art teacher, was because of a personal issue Rudd had and because that was the only place she could be moved to, to distance her somewhat from the boys, not at all because she is good or valuable. There are much better art or AC teachers around.

Mr Dixie Dykman can go back to being the excellent teacher he used to be many, many, many moons ago, just by teaching the way he used to instead of reading from the textbook as he does these days, the current way at Grey.

Mynhardt and Strauss won't change. They are just plain unpleasant and indifferent. They don't really want to teach or be present at school. They're probably only in it for the salary, because they've never put in an effort to teach and their behaviour is that of a teacher who likes to punish not taking into account that a learner has rights. They probably don't even wonder what the learners pay for or what would happen to teachers if all the learners had to leave or stopped paying. They most definitely won't care that memories are built by the way people feel and if you get treated bad by a specific person, you have bad memories about that person.

Parents send their children to school with the understanding they'll be safe, properly educated and treated with respect. This is however not the way it is done at Grey. If a boy isn't mistreated in some way, disrespected in another way, then he is inappropriately kissed. To top it, the school allows the indecent teacher to finish the school year teaching as with Lize-Marié Swart. She should have stopped teaching immediately without pay. In all her statements, she never once mentioned that she regrets what she did or has learnt her lesson, but rather has learnt who not to tell. What about what she didn't disclose and in all probability did off the school grounds with the learner she kissed and/or others? Good educational institutions fire a teacher on the spot if they fraternise with learners, let alone kiss them and....

It's a shame that the school finds it easier to deny than to fix the problems to make Grey the school it used to be. It's fine if a teacher fucks up a learner for life, but a teacher may not be held accountable or better phrased, a teacher's feelings must be considered. hahaha. This blog is going nowhere! We'll keep on exercising freedom of speech. Keep the grievances coming.

P.S. Teachers and staff that do their job and a good job will not be discussed on this blog!
